Company profile
Founded in 1957 by the glass producer, this division, with the name of FIBRALEX, developped a range of Glass fiber Reinforced Polyester (GRP) translucent sheets for roofing and cladding of industrial buildings. In 1986, the FIBRALEX division became independent under the name of FIBRES DU HAINAUT. One third of the turn-over is today realized on export markets.
Continuous production line
GRP sheets are manufactured on a fully automatic continuous production line, by impregnating with catalysed resin a fibre glass reinforcement, laid on to a moving plastic film.
The stove temperature varies from + 60°C to + 100°C. The machine speed is proportional to the length of the stove, that is to say between 1 and 15 m/min. Side cutting is made at the end of the stove. Then the sheets are cut to size according to the required lengths.
